Kozo Kawairi – a decorative handmade paper. Sheets are made from kozo fibres, which are merged with pieces of untreated bark, which gives an original pattern, slightly different on each sheet.
Kozo – a paper-producing plant, one of the most popular in Japan.
Kawairi – the term made up of two words: kawa = bark and iri = inside. A decorative paper with the so-called speckles, obtained by the addition of different fibres to the pulp. In this case the pattern is very delicate and of the same shade.
